Have you seen these Chinese
marbles? Gorgeous An-Jing handmade marbled
papers available in a variety of subtle colors. Three new patterns -
“bone”, “glaze”
and “rainfall” - as well as six new colors
in the “meteor shower” line. These Chinese
papers are wonderful multipurpose decorative sheets - lightweight, delicate,
and inexpensive - ideal for collage, window coverings, and wrapping.
Lemon Yellow Melange (detail)
Light and airy new Japanese papers to off-set the heat of late summer: “Melange”
papers feature swirls of smooth, “sherbety” pastel color
on a sturdy fabric backing (available in ash green or lemon yellow).
Also, two new gauzy unryus that feature traditional
Asian symbols and delicate Chrysanthemum flowers.
Two-Color Momi Lokta (detail)
Two-color Momi loktas are the newest thing from Nepal - available in muted
earth tones or the very shiny curry & red, these new papers have
a crushed two-color effect that fools the eye into seeing awesome depths
and textures. New “Contempo” lokta screen
prints feature bold geometric patterns of circles & squares in black,
sand, and gold. Intricacy and subtlety merge with the new lotus flower
lokta screen prints - two-tone “Gold Maize”
on gold & “Amethyst” on purple create
a nice monochromatic effect.
Raised Floral & Paisley (detail)
You'll want to see the new “Raised
Floral & Paisley” Indian paper in person - the dainty
screen printed floral & paisley design sits on top of the dense
and semi-translucent rayon paper, yielding an unusual embossed effect.
Also from India, a new metallic paper that features elegant embossed
floral scrolls in copper.

The most textured of our new papers come from
the Philippines - the aptly named “Crater
Papers” in white or cream which feature dense and shallow
moonscape peaks, the more fragile inclusion paper “Leaves
& Strings” on natural, and “Woven Fibers”
- lovely hairy sheets available in purple, natural, and lime.
We've got several new papers from Thailand - two fabric-backed embossed white patterned papers “Whirls”
and “Spheres” as well as three beautiful
Thai lace papers. Available in three organic patterns, “Stonehenge”,
“Circles”, and “Window Panes”,
these cream colored lace papers would be wonderful lampshade or window
cover material. Also new to our collection are three bold Thai unryus
which feature silk-screened spirals on bright blue, summery orange,
and bright white sheets.
