Lascaux Artists’
Acrylic Colours from Switzerland are considered the ultimate
in the medium. Their pigment load and binder are unsurpassed by other brands. This paint comes the closest
to working like oil paint than any other acrylic.
The Lascaux factory has reformulated their
color selection to offer a well-rounded palette with
exceptional color purity and depth. The new line includes earth
transparents, such as transoxide yellow, red, brown and black, allowing the acrylic painter to make wonderful
glazes in natural colors. They mix with other pigments to make exciting
new hues. Hansa Yellow and Transoxide Black create an earthy green. These mixtures are highlighted on their color
chart. Lascaux uses a binder that is quite matte compared
to other acrylic lines.
Come in and see the recent comparison Greg
Graham did of Cadmium Red Medium from all
of the acrylics Wet Paint offers. You will see the difference in pigment
load, body and surface sheen from ten different color lines.
Lascaux also has recently relaunched its Studio series with nine new colors. Improved lightfastness, intensity and brilliance
are just a few of the features of this economical line
of paints, which is perfect for large-surface paintings, murals and decorative work.
