Why Buy an Easel?
by Virginia McBride, Wet Paint
The primary function of any easel is to securely hold the artist’s drawing or painting surface at a comfortable working height. Though this may seem obvious, there are a surprising number of easels out there that don’t fulfill this simple requirement!
Except for travel easels, which sacrifice some of their stability for increased portability, a good easel should be relatively “wobble-free.” If you are struggling with the height or the stability of your current easel, or “easel arrangement,” this is a good reason to buy a new easel!
When asked why some of their customers had purchased easels recently, the Wet Paint sales staff had plenty of other great reasons for you to consider:
-
Working at an easel that is the wrong height gives you a sore neck and back!
-
As you become more accomplished as an artist, it is important to give your work the proper environment to flourish.
-
You’ve got a tax return and want to spend it on something that will last forever.
-
You’re tired of making the excuse that you would paint more if you had the proper set up.
-
You like the option of working larger than what your current situation will accommodate.
-
You want to spend more time painting and less time setting up.
-
You’ve graduated from school and need your own easel to continue your work.
We are currently promoting three of our favorite easels from Best at 35% off list price. Additionally, when you purchase one of these easels by the end of April, you will receive a Wet Paint gift card that you can use immediately against your easel purchase.
The Classic Dulce, our most popular studio easel, is a solid oak H-frame style that accommodates canvasses up to 82”.
The Deluxe Lobo is versatile, sturdy and compact and can be used both vertically and horizontally.
The Deluxe Tabletop is a miniature version of the Classic Dulce; solid oak for sturdiness, yet collapsible and small for easy storage and transport.
