New from the NationalArt Materials Trade Association
 Wet Paint owner Beth attends The National Art Materials Trade Association show every spring & about two weeks later a bunch of new products start arriving at our door! Some of these have been detailed in other articles in this issue; here is a run down of the “rest of the best” to watch for in the upcoming months:
Guerrilla Painter, makers of the Guerrilla Painter Boxes, has come out with The Shadebuddy-- a ground stake & umbrella combination for the plein air painter. The stake features a foot pedal for ease in inserting it into the ground & an angle adjustment for maximizing shade. Also new from Guerrilla Painter is a pocket sized composition finder.
Caran D’Ache has developed a new colored pencil that meets the ASTM D-6901 standard for lightfastness & they’re calling it Luminance 6901. These are available in 76 colors & sets & have arrived at Wet Paint.

Montana Spray Paint is sending us their Montana Hardcore Markers-- extremely juicy, waterbased markers with ½”, 1” & 2” nib sizes. They have also introduced their own line of latex gloves, slightly textured for holding onto spray cans!
Stabilo Exam Grade ballpoint pens have an ink-level indicator on the barrel of the pen that shows how many pages you can write & features a quick drying ink formula that is great for the left handed writer. Also smudge resistant is the Stabilo Colorgel, a waterproof gel pen that comes in 10 colors & six metallics.
Speaking of pens, we have ordered the new Copic Spica-- twinkling glitter pens. Not sure when we’ll see them, but we’ll be happy to call you the minute they arrive!
Logan, manufacturer of our favorite mat cutters, is now producing a line of tools called Foam Werks; a series of tools for creating models from foam board.

Jacquard’s dyes produce intensely colorful shirts-- No two designs are exactly alike!The Funky Groovy Tie Dye kit will dye up to five t-shirts. A larger kit is available for 15 shirts. In addition to the new iron-on transfer sheets, Jacquard inkjet fabric sheets are a quick & easy way to put digital images on cloth. Paper-backed fabric sheets in cotton, silk, or organza have a special coating which allows them to accept sharp digital printing. Peel off the paper backing once printed & you’re ready to collage or sew your digital images.
While best known for their fabric products, many Jacquard products can be used on other surfaces. The screen printing inks are also formulated to print on paper without wrinkling. Textile, Neopaque & Lumiere paints work great on leather, wood & paper. Developed for glass, wood, plastic, metal, vinyl, leather & paper, Jacquard’s Pinata color is highly saturated transparent color in an ink format. Pinata colors are alcohol based, indelible, & moisture resistant when dry.
Pearl-Ex powdered pigments, the most versatile Jacquard product, can be incorporated into media from oil paint to paper pulp for metallic effects. Colorfast & non-toxic, Pearl-Ex creates a metallic sheen that won’t tarnish or fade.
