Gamblin Artists Oil and Wet Paint have chosen our White Sale newsletter to call attention
to the importance of maintaining a safe studio.
The ideal of achieving a safe working environment for artists is of central concern to Gamblin, which has committed itself
over the past two decades to making art materials without toxic solvents.
Gamblin has created Gamsol, the safest odorless mineral spirits
available for use in the studio. Recommended for thinning oils and cleaning
brushes, Gamsol is safer than turpentine as it evaporates at a much
lower rate (preventing the body from absorbing it as fast).
Galkyd is a fast-drying painting medium that imparts
a gloss and is a replacement for traditional painting mediums which
use turpentine and damar resin.
Radiant white is the newest color to the Gamblin palette. It
can be described as "refrigerator white." It has a base of poppy
oil, not linseed oil and titanium pigment making it opaque. Neo
Megilp is a product developed over the past 2 1/2 years as a safe
replacement for traditional Maroger medium.
