Chiyogami
If you haven’t looked through our selection of Chiyogami papers, you’ve been missing one of our finest and broadest assortments of printed papers!
Chiyogami (also known as Yuzen) feature small traditional multi-colored Japanese designs silk-screened onto machine made kozo/sulphite sheets. The many diverse patterns available range from traditional bamboo or crane motifs to more contemporary designs that feature playful ladybugs or dragonflies. From simple geometric to lush botanicals, we’ve got over 150 different designs to choose from! The next time you’re in the store, take a minute or two to browse through our many sample folders.
New Arrivals from Japan
Sekkazome & Shimazome hand dyed papers from the Awagami mill: delicate colorful sheets reminiscent of tie dye. Shimazome is a lightweight (19gsm) tissue with bold colored vertical stripes while Sekkazome (30gsm) features bright blossom or snowflake designs.
Terasen: translucent fabric-like sheets with thin white printed designs. Choose from fine swirls, dots, grass, daisy or linen.
Shoin: delicate lightweight lace sheets that
feature a subtle checkerboard design. Available in six colors: lime, pink, orange, deep blue, deep sage, and deep purple.

Recently, many customers have noticed me framing at our paint counter. They’ve asked if this is a new service we offer. While custom framing has been part of Wet Paint since opening in 1976, there have been some recent enhancements. A few years back, we started providing custom canvas stretching.
We have now added 100 new wood profiles to the selection of metal frames for custom framing. This includes wood moldings specifically for framing stretched canvases. The selection of archival rag mat board has expanded and now includes colors from the Canson Mi-Teintes line, amongst others.
Wet Paint will take care of your framing needs from simple mat cutting to unique object framing.
