They have an extremely high degree of spring, precision and durability. These brushes have become famous over the years for their distinctive "school bus yellow" handle.
Isabey Chungking brushes are completely handmade, rare for a bristle brush. The hair is the finest quality Chungking hog bristle available. These brushes are distinctive with the most hairs per square inch for an extra tuft, maximizing paint load. Their interlocked, curved hairs maintain a tight and precise brush shape that resists splaying.
For centuries, French craftswomen in Britanny have handcrafted artists' brushes, passing the tradition on from generation to generation, and Isabey brushes are the legacy of that great history. Completely handcrafted from start to finish, each brush is hand-washed, hand-sorted, shaved, and hand-shaped without cutting the tip to preserve the natural qualities of the hair.
