Isacryl brushes by Isabey are among the finest handmade synthetic brushes. A special mix of thick sythetic fibers replicates the finest natural hairs with the durability associated with synthetics. They are ideal for oil paint and heavy body acrylics.
They feature incredible feel and spring for unparalleled precision and control. Each head includes a random mix of up to seven different fibers and diameters. Unlike many other synthetics, which feature only one fiber and diameter, Isabey's mix responds closer to a natural hair brush. Their finely tapered hairs interlock to maintain a sharp point and edge. These special fibers resist splaying when used with solvents and the brush head keeps its tight shape longer than most synthetics.
For centuries, French craftswomen in Britanny have handcrafted artists' brushes, passing the tradition on from generation to generation, and Isabey brushes are the legacy of that great history. Completely handcrafted from start to finish, each brush is hand-washed, hand-sorted, shaved, and hand-shaped without cutting the tip to preserve the natural qualities of the hair. For superior construction, tufts are glued within the ferrule twice and crimped lightly to avoid handle damage, offering maximum security, longevity and control. The work of thirty craftswomen over a period of three weeks goes into the crafting of a single brush.
