About Isabey Memory Brushes
The natural hair blend in Isabey's Memory series is an excellent value for artists of every ability looking for sable’s spring, precision and soft feel at a fraction of the cost. Suitable for almost any technique in oil, acrylic or watercolor.
They feature extra soft, finest quality natural hair with a thick full body, and are available in large sizes not available in sable brushes. Finer and less dense than sable, the Memory blend is an excellent choice for glazing techniques. The badger fan has a softer feel than bristle fan brushes, yet still very resilient. The Memory brush is perfect for delicate brush strokes, glazing, blurring, dry brush effects or color blending.
For centuries, French craftswomen in Britanny have handcrafted artists' brushes, passing the tradition on from generation to generation, and Isabey brushes are the legacy of that great history. Completely handcrafted from start to finish, each brush is hand-washed, hand-sorted, shaved, and hand-shaped without cutting the tip to preserve the natural qualities of the hair. For superior construction, tufts are glued within the ferrule twice and crimped lightly to avoid handle damage, offering maximum security, longevity and control. The work of thirty craftswomen over a period of three weeks goes into the crafting of a single brush.
