This fountain pen ink is also known as "La Perle Des Encres (The Pearl of Inks)". It's available in bottles or cartridges. It can be used in fountain pens and with dip pens. It's water-based & non-toxic. An odd little fact within this line is that the color Bleu Myosotis can be erased.
Each bottle of 30 ml/1 oz. is elegantly labeled and has a pen rest. They are known as "D Bottle pen inks". The "D" refers to the old French unit of measure "la Demi Courtine." The universal cartridges, or, as the French say, "les cartouches", fit any fountain pen except Sheaffer, Parker, Namiki and Cross. Six cartridges neatly and securely packed in a brushed metal tin.
J. Herbin is the oldest name in ink production in the world. By 1700, the company was producing "l'Encre de la Tete Noire," followed by the "Perle des Encres" (The Pearl of Inks) and "l'Encre des Vaisseaux" (The Ink of Ships).
As you can see here, the "Pearl of Inks" is still produced, and is available in 30 beautiful, radiant colors.
J. Herbin uses all natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This relatively "natural" composition is reflected in the very neutral pH of the inks.
