Olio HD is Maimeri’s range of 30 oil paints specially selected for the generation of artists that have experienced the bright, back-lit color of electronic screens their whole lives. The names of the colors reflect this contemporary approach (e.g., Heavy Metal, Urban Grey, Red Devil, Game Over Purple, Reset Green, etc.). Maimeri describes these colors as "hues of a colorful dreamscape...They are the colors of video." Chosen for their unconventionality, their luminosity and vibrant transparency, these traditionally made oil paints are fluid, ultra vivid, and lively; the colors fit neatly into an age of various device monitors, video games, and high-definition flat screen televisions.
Olio HD does not contain substances that are considered hazardous, making it a line that is welcome in the studio of theartist concerned with safety. Another interesting property of these paints is that, when applied in thin coats, they dry in approx. 24 to 48 hours, making them well-suited for glazing techniques, since layers can be applied in a relatively short amount of time.
