About Winsor & Newton Griffin Alkyd
Griffin Alkyds are an artist quality range of colors that are compatible with, and work like, traditional oil colors, except they dry faster– generally workable for four to six hours and dry in 18 to 24 hours.
This range includes colors made with high quality artists’ pigments including genuine cadmiums, viridian and cobalt as well as various modern organic pigments. They have an easy buttery flow and exhibit consistent drying times with minimal yellowing yet more brilliance than oils.
These qualities make this the paint of choice for certain plein air oil painters, who appreciate the fast drying time.
