The new book Rethinking Acrylic, Radical Solutions for Exploiting the World’s Most Versatile Medium is just arriving at Wet Paint as our newsletter goes to press. Rethinking Acrylic is written by friend of Wet Paint Patti Brady. Patti’s relationship with Wet Paint dates back twenty years, to when she worked as a sales representative for a French importer & would spend the whole day with Beth on her visits to St. Paul. Today Patti is the director of Golden Artist Colors Working Artist Program, designed to provide artists with first hand experience of the variety of GOLDEN acrylic products & their uses. These professional artists then take their extensive acrylic product training & conduct classes & demonstrations for other artists & students working in acrylic or other media. As director of this program, Patti manages & develops curriculum for 42 national & international artists! This, combined with her own painting & her new book, have kept her too busy to visit us recently, but Beth still catches up with her a few times a year at national art materials events.
Rethinking Acrylic brings Patti’s years of art materials education to print, as she details a variety of contemporary acrylic painting techniques & how to incorporate them into existing painting practice. Both beginners & established acrylic painters will discover new artistic possibilities through Patti’s demonstrations.
