About Daler-Rowney Inks
The major development of inks in recent years has been the increasing use of pigments and acrylic resins. The differences between the dye-based inks and the pigmented inks were slight reduction in color intensity, but much improved resistance to fading.
FW ARTISTS' INK
FW Artists’ Ink is an acrylic-based, pigmented, water-resistant ink in a range of 38 colors, all of which have a high rating for permanence.
Such a high degree of lightfastness over a range of fully intermixable colours makes them ideal for use by artists in the production of pictures for permanent display.
Equally, however, colors can be substantially diluted to achieve the most subtle of tones, very similar in character to watercolor. Such washes will dry to a water resistant film and successive layers of colour can be laid over a highly predicable manner. FW Artists’ Inks work well through airbrushes and technical pens.
FW PEARLESCENT
FW Pearlescent inks are a unique range of 22 water-based acrylic colors that produce a shimmering pearl effect.
The pigments of these Pearlescent are large in particle size and so they will not go through fine line nozzles for airbrushes. Nor will they be suitable for technical pens or fountain pens. The best means of applying pearlescent colors is by using a dip pen, ruling pen or brush.
These acrylic-based inks are water-soluble when wet. but dry to a water resistant film. All colors are good to extremely lightfast. The shimmering pearl effect created by these colors is startling.
All colors are intermixable. They are permanent and translucent, but work best is put down freely rather than applying successive layers of colours. There are many interesting and exciting ways of using FW Pearlescent Inks.
This breakthrough in color technology offers almost limitless creative potential in areas not normally associated with inks and includes applications to wood and leather (to a limited degree, glass and ceramics) as well as to paper and board.
CALLI INK
Calli is an acrylic based range of six pigmented water resistant inks, designed especially for use in calligraphy, where optimum flow characteristics from the pen or brush are essential.
