Ampersand produces archival, warp-resistant wood panels for most any artistic need. Choose from any of the Museum line of panels, cradled or uncradled: the very smooth and absorbent Claybord for ink, egg tempera and encaustic; smooth and non-absorbent Gessobord for oils and acrylics; Aquabord, a textured, absorbent surface for watercolor; Hardbord unfinished panels for priming yourself; and Scratchbord and Pastelbord for their namesake uses.
SCRATCHBORD: Scratchbord is a clay coated hardboard panel for scratchboard that is coated with India ink. Comparable to traditional paper scratchboard, except better û it's more durable and easier to scratch into for cleaner and crisper details and lines. For added dimension, colored inks can be added to the white areas and then scratched again for additional highlights and volume.
Artwork can be sprayed with Claybord Fixative allowing the finished scratchboard to be framed without glass.
