J. HERBIN OPAQUE PIGMENTED INKS: Known in France as 'Encre Pigmentee', these pigmented inks are opaque inks of exceptional richness. Packaged in 30 ml / 1 oz. bottles, they are best suited for wide nibs or brushes and most effective on dark colored paper. They contain a high pigment content; gold and silver inks contain actual metallic pigments. These inks need to be shaken frequently in their bottles while using, since the pigments settle quickly. Water-based; available in gold, silver, white and copper.
J. Herbin is the oldest name in ink production in the world. By 1700, the company was producing 'Encre de la Tete Noire,' followed by the 'Perle des Encres' (The Pearl of Inks) and 'l'Encre des Vaisseaux' (The Ink of Ships).
