We discovered the Mirage Paper Company out of Toronto a few years back at the National Art Materials Trade Association annual convention, and their Canadian sketch books immediately caught our eye. Heavy sheets of acid-free, multi-purpose paper with a nice medium tooth, perfect for a wide range of media and bound behind covers with beautiful illustrations that evoke the North Country. Since then, these books have not only become a staff favorite, but a customer favorite as well, and we discovered other offerings from Mirage. Their humbly bound 'Orange Series' pads contain an even heavier sheet and are great for drawing in the field. But the pads for young artists are what particularly moved us: Mirage believes strongly that art paper for young people should not be of inferior quality, and they've created a line with a real respect for young artists. Try them out and you will see.
