New Stuff at
Wet Paint

You might be suffering under the misapprehension that there simply isn’t any more room at Wet Paint for new stuff....

If you haven't been to Wet Paint before, we're the sort of art supplies store that uses every inch of space. Like an old-fashioned hardware store, we have products from floor to ceiling. And if you've been in the store recently you would probably think that we've already filled up all that space. Not a lot of room for new product here, nosiree. In defiance of physics, however, we are adding new merchandise almost every day. Let's review some of these recent arrivals:

Moleskine music and storyboard journals: Ah, had these only been around earlier! In addition to being the chosen notebook of Van Gogh and Hemingway, the Moleskine might also have been the notebook of Schoenberg and Hitchcock.

In the pad and journal department we have the newest styles of Moleskine: the storyboard notebook and the music notebook. They've already been very popular, as have the 2005 Moleskine day planners in two sizes.

ECCOLO: A Sorcerer’s Journal for your mystical incantations; a torrid Romance Journal for your shocking love affairs; and a classy Brevetto for the cool cousin in your family.

Speaking of 2005 day planners, we are excited to have handsome, leather bound ones from Cavallini in stock. Besides Cavallini, Italy is also proudly represented by the new Eccolo journals. These high end products feature covers of wood or leather and make attractive gifts.

Kunst & Papier books from Germany are more understated but equally as fine. They have an extremely durable, stitched binding, a colored hard cover and nice paper stock for writing or drawing ... a staff favorite. Another new pad of note is the Yupo watercolor paper, formerly only available in sheets. If you've never tried Yupo, here’s your chance to answer for yourself: “Can you really paint on that stuff?"

Not to be outdone by the pad department, the writing and drawing department is also growing faster than we can contain it! The beloved StabiloTone that died in the Stabilo purge last year lives again as the Woody! The Woody has all of the features you loved about the Tone (vibrancy, water solubility and multi-surface compatibility) but with a nicer, woodier look.

In response to overwhelming demand Wet Paint now has both ColErase and Verithin pencils from Sanford in open stock. Sanford is also the manufacturer of the new Sharpie paint marker lines that we carry and of course the new pastel colored Sharpies, too. In other drawing news, Chunky Charcoal from Cretacolor is now available in color! Sets of twelve include ten beautiful colors as well as a charcoal and a graphite.

The NEW Copic Multiliner SP: Run out of ink? Replace the cartridge. Nib worn out? Replace it!

Also new in the drawing area are the extremely popular Copic pigment liners -- the first refillable pigment liners to have replaceable tips!

The paint department is excited about the addition of Lascaux modeling pastes. These opaque, ready to use pastes are available in unique colors, textures and weights and can be painted over or added directly to acrylic paint for impasto techniques. Also new to our paint department is Golden absorbent ground in canvas color: an acrylic liquid surfacing medium that dries to a porous, paper-like surface.

Victorinox Swiss Army Messenger Bag: No, it doesn't open up into a scissors or tweezers, but it does offer several useful pouches, comfort, and some very cool colors.

That should probably be enough new product, but also new to Wet Paint are Victorinox (Swiss Army) back packs, sticky backed foam board from Savage, linen covered three ring binders from Pina Zingaro, Cachet post bound, top load photo albums and Easy Shape clay from Sculpey.
