You can also watch this interesting documentary on Andy right here, which shows him using the Black Velvet brushes:

"I've been painting watercolors for over 20 years, and have always used round brushes. After trying several different types, from the expensive sable to inexpensive synthetics, I was very pleased to come across Silver's Black Velvet brushes. The combination of natural squirrel & black synthetic hair gives me a brush that holds a lot of water & pigment with nice spring. The point stays sharp for a long time and allows me to go from a large wash to drawing a small shape without changing brushes. Because I like to paint plein air, it's nice to carry just a few brushes: the Jumbo Round, the size 16 and size 10 are all I need to finish a painting."
