"I like Gamblin products mainly for their commitment to safe studio practices. As an oil painter, I find many of their products indispensible. Gamsol is the only solvent I use because it is pure enough to use for thinning paints without compromising the archival quality of my paintings. I also use Gamblin's Galkyd for a medium-- it has no smell and renders paint stable even in thin, transparent layers. When I need to loosen up some paint, I reach for Gamblin's refined linseed oil. I think Gamvar is the best archival varnish available. All of these products have a high tolerance threshold before they become toxic. With good ventilation, Gamblin makes it possible to maintain a safe studio environment for this oil painter. Gamblin also provides me with high quality products to supplement my painting."
